In a significant humanitarian endeavor, the UAE Floating Hospital, stationed at the Port of Al Arish, commenced its mission on February 25, extending crucial medical aid to the Palestinian populace. With its inaugural operations, the hospital swiftly attended to the urgent medical needs of individuals from Gaza afflicted with a range of injuries and fractures, symbolizing the inception of this vital healthcare initiative.

This initiative resonates with the directives of President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, underscoring the UAE’s commitment to providing comprehensive support and assistance to the people of the Gaza Strip, as part of the ‘Gallant Knight 3’ humanitarian operation.

Among the initial recipients of care was a 20-year-old Palestinian man who underwent urgent surgery at the hospital. In a testament to the hospital’s swift response and expertise, medical professionals performed a successful surgical intervention to realign the shoulder. However, addressing the nerve damage will necessitate a follow-up procedure in the near future.

Established through collaboration between the Department of Health- Abu Dhabi and the AD Ports Group, the Floating Hospital boasts a diverse medical and administrative staff comprising 100 individuals specializing in various disciplines, including anesthesia, general surgery, orthopedics, emergency medicine, nursing, and support services.
