Former Italian prime minister Silvio Berlusconi, recovering from a sex scandal and corruption allegations, has died at the age of 86, Italian media reported, citing Agence France-Presse. Doctors later revealed he had a rare form of blood cancer. But the former Italian prime minister has been in poor health for years – undergoing heart surgery in 2016 and hospitalized with coronavirus in 2020.

The death of Silvio Berlusconi left a “huge void” because he was a great man, Italian Defense Minister Guido Crosetto said on Twitter, And added, “I love him very much. Goodbye, Silvio.”

Silvio Berlusconi remains the official leader of his right-wing Forza Italia party, a junior partner in Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni’s coalition government. Between 1994 and 2011, he served as Italy’s prime minister three times, a total of nine years.

He is survived by girlfriend Marta Fascina, 33, two ex-wives and five children.
