German Foreign Minister’s plane diverts to Abu Dhabi en route to Australia

Mechanical issues force German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock to pause her Australia trip. The government plane had wing flap problems, causing a return to Abu Dhabi for safety.

German Air Force works on the Airbus A340, ensuring Baerbock’s journey to New Zealand and Fiji continues.

This isn’t Baerbock’s first travel setback; she faced tire problems in Doha previously and weather-related trip cancellations.

In 2018, ex-Chancellor Angela Merkel’s plane also suffered a serious malfunction, leading to an unscheduled landing and her missing a G20 summit.
