GTA 6 Leak Sparks Buzz as Gameplay Clips Surface Online
A fresh GTA 6 leak has surfaced online just days before Rockstar Games is scheduled to provide an official extended look at the highly anticipated game.
Two gameplay clips and material appearing to show the game’s Leonida map began circulating online on August 18. Reports described footage featuring protagonist Jason Duval driving, fighting and playing basketball. However, Rockstar has not officially authenticated the leaked material, so details from the footage should be treated as unverified.
The leak has nevertheless triggered action from Rockstar’s parent company, Take-Two Interactive. Reports say the company issued copyright takedown requests against some of the material and has now escalated its efforts through the courts.
On August 20, Take-Two filed requests seeking information from Microsoft and Discord that could help identify accounts connected to the distribution of the leaked GTA 6 material. The subpoenas seek records linked to the online activity surrounding the leaks.
The timing is particularly significant because Rockstar is preparing an official GTA 6 Extended Look for August 27. Rockstar’s official website confirms that the presentation will arrive on Netflix and the company’s YouTube channel.
Rockstar also confirms that Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
While the leaked material has generated considerable attention among fans, players should be cautious about treating reported gameplay features or map details as final. Unofficial footage may come from an earlier development build and may not represent the finished game.
The upcoming official presentation is therefore expected to provide the clearest and most reliable look yet at GTA 6 before its November release.
