Hyatt plans major expansion; 4 new hotels in Bay Area

Hyatt announced that its portfolio of luxury brands continues to grow globally, with a significant number of new properties opening in Europe, Africa and the Middle East (EAME) over the next three years, including four in the Gulf region.

Thirteen hotels will join the Hyatt family of brands, including Park Hyatt, Andaz, Grand Hyatt, Thompson Hotels, Miraval Resorts & Spas, and the Hyatt Unlimited collection will open in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Kingdom, Spain, South Africa, Austria , Finland, etc.

The properties will increase Hyatt’s luxury brand footprint in EAME by more than 30 percent by 2026 in the key growth markets that matter most to guests, World of Hyatt loyalty program members, clients and owners, the company said.

As leisure travel continues to drive recovery in many parts of the world, Hyatt remains committed to catering to premium travelers to meet the growing demand for luxury travel experiences. Strong performance following luxury hotel openings in 2022, including La Zambra by Hyatt’s The Unbound Collection on the Costa del Sol, 7Pines Resort Sardinia by Hyatt Destination, and the debut of the Thompson Hotels brand in Spain With Thompson Madrid, Hyatt The luxury inventory currently accounts for about 25% of Hyatt’s distribution in EAME. Hyatt’s expected opening in 2025 demonstrates its commitment to creating more story-worthy experiences and memorable stays that exceed the expectations of luxury travelers.

The strategic growth of Hyatt’s luxury portfolio across EAME will feature major milestones such as the opening of four Park Hyatt-branded properties, including the return of the Park Hyatt brand to London; the debut of the Hyatt brand in Finland, The Unbound Collection, launching in Helsinki The first Hyatt-branded hotel; the introduction of the Andaz brand to Lisbon; and the unveiling of Miraval, the first luxury wellness resort outside of the United States, on Shura Island, Saudi Arabia. Carefully selected to complement Hyatt’s growing portfolio of luxury brands, each new hotel embodies Hyatt’s unprecedented immersive luxury experience inspired by the vibrant culture and stories of the region.

Park Hyatt

Park Hyatt Johannesburg (Johannesburg, South Africa): Following an extensive refurbishment of the iconic Winston Hotel in Rosebank under the supervision of award-winning global designer Yabu Pushelberg, Park Hyatt Johannesburg will be redeveloped in South Africa Park Hyatt brand. Opening in early 2023, the hotel has been thoughtfully redesigned to showcase every aspect of luxury, with 30 rooms and suites, a spacious restaurant offering al fresco dining, and a sophisticated bar with an open-air courtyard.

Park Hyatt Marrakech (Marrakech, Morocco): Bringing a personalized luxury experience to the impressive Al Maaden residential and leisure development, Park Hyatt Marrakech will be the first Park Hyatt in Morocco . Scheduled to open in early 2023, the stunning 181-room hotel will be set against the spectacular backdrop of the Atlas Mountains and feature a Moroccan garden-inspired 18-hole golf course managed by the award-winning Designed by golf course designer Kyle Phillips.

Park Hyatt London on Thames (Nine Elms, London): Expected to open in early 2024 and marking the return of the Park Hyatt brand to London, Park Hyatt London on Thames is poised to become one of the city’s premier riverside hotels. Located in the Nine Elms development, opposite Westminster, the hotel features 203 tastefully designed guest rooms and suites, as well as sophisticated event spaces, reintroducing the Park Hyatt brand’s thoughtful sense of refined luxury to the British capital.

Park Hyatt Riyadh Diriyah Gate (Riyadh, Saudi Arabia): Expected to open in 2025, Park Hyatt Riyadh Diriyah Gate in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will be part of the highly anticipated Diriyah Gate development overlooking Al-Turaif’s UNESCO World Heritage. Over 7 square kilometers of Diriyah will be transformed into one of the world’s most important historical tourism destinations, offering guests an exquisite home away from home and new ways to experience Saudi Arabia’s history.

Andaz

Andaz Doha (Doha, Qatar): Located in the heart of vibrant West Bay, Andaz Doha will open in early 2023 as part of the city’s iconic ‘art’ skyline. Taking lifestyle, locally inspired design and contemporary art to the next level, the hotel will offer 256 rooms, 32 suites and four royal suites, 56 residences, a signature restaurant, a Singapore street food restaurant and a A jungle-themed bar, an outdoor swimming pool, a well-equipped fitness room, and more. Andaz Lisbon (Lisbon, Portugal): Expected to open in 2024, Andaz Lisbon will incorporate Lisbon’s rich culture and heritage through locally inspired architecture and design. Located in the heart of Lisbon’s bustling Baixa district, the hotel will offer guests an exciting new luxury lifestyle hotel in the Portuguese capital. Guests can enjoy cocktails and local dishes at the hotel’s rooftop restaurant, bar and Andaz Lounge, and relax and rejuvenate at the spa and fitness centre.

Grand Hyatt Hotel

Grand Hyatt Red Sea (Saura, Saudi Arabia): The 430-room Grand Hyatt on Shura, the centerpiece of an ambitious Red Sea project off the west coast of Saudi Arabia, is expected to open in mid-2024. The luxury resort will be the largest of 11 hotels to open on the island and will feature prominently in this innovative tourism development. Grand Hyatt Red Sea will be the second Grand Hyatt in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the seventh in the Middle East, marking an important milestone in Hyatt’s brand development strategy in the region.

Grand Hyatt Limassol (Limassol, Cyprus): The 300-room Grand Hyatt Limassol is the first Hyatt hotel on the island of Cyprus and is expected to open in 2025, marking the Brands in major European destinations continue to grow. Thompson Hotel

Thompson Vienna (Vienna, Austria): Scheduled to open in late 2024, Thompson Vienna is part of a landmark development that will house a new KaDeWe high-end department store in the Austrian capital. World-renowned architects OMA and interior designers Tara Bernerd & Partners will design this sophisticated lifestyle hotel to create an immersive destination inspired by the city’s distinctive character.

Miraval Resort & Spa

Hotel in development (Crans-Montana, Switzerland): The 41-room luxury boutique hotel is expected to join Hyatt’s The Unbound Collection in December 2023 and will be known for its Swiss chalet cuisine and front-row sports Experiences inspire unforgettable memories.
