JW Marriott to launch safari luxury lodge in Kenya

[ad_1]

As part of Marriott Bonvoy’s global portfolio of 30 exceptional hotel brands, JW Marriott will launch JW Marriott Masai Mara next month in the Masai Mara National Reserve in southwestern Kenya.

The JW Marriott Masai Mara Lodge, which will welcome guests on April 1, 2023, will mark the brand’s first luxury safari lodge and will be set in one of Africa’s most renowned game reserves and wilderness areas.

Overlooking the banks of the famous Talek River on the edge of the reserve, the retreat will provide guests with a harmonious backdrop from which to explore the reserve’s majestic vistas, abundant wildlife and sweeping plains, balancing the thrill of a driving game with the opportunity to switch off and relax .

Embodying a holistic approach to well-being and fulfillment, the lodge will be filled with serenity and connection to the environment. The landscape will provide the opportunity to observe the “Big Five” of the Masai Mara, including lions, leopards, buffaloes, rhinos and elephants. The reserve also hosts the annual Great Wildebeest Migration, from June to September, in which more than 10 million animals migrate 1,800 miles from neighboring Tanzania’s Serengeti.

The hotel’s sophisticated interiors will pay homage to the surrounding landscape, drawing inspiration from elements of soft warm tones and natural materials. In keeping with JW Marriott’s ethos of focus and fulfillment, the hotel will feature a number of thoughtfully designed spaces, from cozy book-filled adventure lounges to spaces to lose yourself and take time out for the young, to the hotel’s Culture Deck and the pool deck, where guests can gather and share stories of the day’s explorations before embarking on a guided night of stargazing.

At the heart of the camp is the JW Garden, a space to connect with nature and practice meditation, complete with unique lounge areas. JW Gardens will provide camp chefs with home-grown sustainable ingredients to create personalized meals for each guest, mocktails and cocktails, and a daily program of activities, including live cooking and chef-led walks, for personal growth and organic release. Meaningful moments offer opportunities.

“Kenya’s Masai Mara National Reserve, rich in natural beauty and serene, is the perfect retreat for body, mind and soul,” says Candice D’Cruz, Vice President Luxury Brands Europe, Middle East and Africa. “JW Marriott Masai Mara Lodge will provide guests with a tranquil backdrop to create once-in-a-lifetime memories while connecting with nature and feeling refreshed after a well-rounded, wellness stay.”

Capturing the essence of relaxation and rejuvenation, The Spa by JW Marriott Masai Mara Lodge will mimic the tranquility of the sanctuary, offering bespoke experiences that nourish the mind, body and spirit. The spa’s signature treatments will incorporate locally inspired techniques and therapies, complemented by renowned African skincare brand Healing Earth’s natural and organic products sourced from the continent’s powerful minerals, oceans, flowers, herbs, fruits, seeds and oils . Healing will go beyond the body, extending to the mind and spirit with guided yoga, and a ‘Mara Celebration’ treatment using local plants and remedies.

JW Marriott Masai Mara Lodge will feature 20 private tents, including a honeymoon tented suite with a private plunge pool and two interconnecting covered suites, each with a private terrace and jacuzzi overlooking the river and Mara plains.

Each of the lodge’s 20 private tents will provide a tranquil sanctuary, complete with Rituals and Healing Earth amenities to recharge and reset, and in-room spa treatments to order. Guests can watch the sunrise and reflect on their day’s adventures from the tent’s private patio, overlooking the Talek River, a source of water and habitat for many wildlife. Additionally, the lodge will offer a restaurant, lounge and bar, pool and fire pit area.

Reservations for the JW Marriott Hotel Masai Mara are now open from $2,500 per person per night (all-inclusive). – trade arab news agency
