KQ Entertainment, the company of K-pop boy band Ateez, has issued an apology after a video surfaced showing members singing an offensive song, curry. The song, released by singer Norazo more than a decade ago, contains offensive stereotypes of South Asians.

One of the lyrics reads: “Shanti, Shanti / Yoga, fire / I like hot curries.”

The behind-the-scenes audio of “Radio Idol” was recently released, which includes San performing the song, with Yunho also performing the song in the background.

They released a statement after a fan brought it to their attention.

“Hello,

This is Ken Q Entertainment.

We want to solve the problem about MBC R online content Released yesterday afternoon, starring ATEEZ.

The artist’s behavior in this scene had no specific intention, but unknowingly hurt many fans. We would like to offer our sincerest apologies to fans who felt so uncomfortable and disappointed.

We will work hard to establish a management system to better educate and prevent such behavior from happening again, so as not to cause any worries for fans in the future.

Thanks. “
