Prince William’s wife Kate Middleton has shared her personal insights into joining the royal family as the Princess of Wales talks about the path she took in her marriage to the Prince of Wales. Kate Middleton told the audience at a school in Bristol she never thought she would be a royal.

Asked if she’d always wanted to be a royal, she replied that it was something she didn’t expect, but she was “in love” with Prince William.
It was something “she had to learn,” she said.
Kate Middleton and Prince William met in 2001 when they were students at the University of St Andrews. They announced their engagement in 2010 and married in April 2011.
Kate Middleton admitted as much as she attended a Dame Kelly Holmes Trust event in Bath. Mrs Kelly said she posed a question about Kate Middleton’s three children, asking if she saw different “traits” in them, to which the future queen replied “oh yes, of course”.

“It’s a struggle to know that you can be accepted and fit in and that you’re still learning every day,” Mrs Kelly said.
