ASTANA – Kazakhstan Prime Minister Alihan Smailov said during a meeting with UAE Ambassador to Kazakhstan Mohamed Saeed Mohamed Al-Aric on May 31 that Kazakhstan Particular emphasis is placed on developing investment partnerships with the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Smailov noted that UAE investment in Kazakhstan rose 27 percent last year to about $420 million.He appreciated the start of implementation of the agreement reached as part of the joint statement on new strategic investment projects sign The two heads of state met in January.
“We strive to strengthen our interactions and we are also interested in the growth of UAE investment in the Kazakh economy,” the prime minister said.
In addition to joint investment projects in the fields of energy, transport and logistics, the parties also discussed the development of trade relations.
Smailov stressed that Kazakh leaders are ready to increase the supply of agricultural, machinery and light industrial products to the UAE market, in line with the task set by the leaders of the two countries to increase the bilateral trade volume to $1 billion.
Ambassador Mohammed Saeed Mohammed Al Ariqi said the UAE will promote efficient interstate cooperation, with a focus on access President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev visits the UAE.
