LG invites UAE business leaders to be partners in JK development

Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has invited business leaders in the United Arab Emirates to be development partners and work together to create a more prosperous, equitable and vibrant Union Territory.

Sinha spoke at the India-UAE Investment Summit and interacted with business representatives from the UAE and across the country at SKICC here.

Highlighting the range of private and foreign investment in various sectors of J&K, the Deputy Premier said the Union Territory had made impressive progress in structural reforms in recent years and the growth trajectory made it an attractive investment destination.

“We will ensure that investors receive all kinds of help, convenience and support from the government,” he said.

Sinha said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir has made remarkable progress in an ambitious infrastructure development plan, airport modernization and expansion, railway network and highways to Ease of doing business and drive faster economic growth.

”We have largely succeeded in removing barriers and barriers. We are upgrading the capacity and quality of our infrastructure to meet new demands and are ready to take our partnerships with industry to the next level,” the Deputy Premier said.

Sinha said the historic Indo-UAE investor meeting was a unique opportunity to have a free and frank exchange of views on J&K’s investment issues and opportunities.

He applauded the enthusiasm and confidence of foreign investors in the resilience of the Federal Territory.

“Constructive discussions on various sectors, particularly agriculture and related sectors, hospitality, education, tourism and other industries will explore investment opportunities that will further strengthen our long-standing partnerships with the UAE and other Gulf countries,” Governor Lt. .

The summit decided to form a joint group to quickly approve the proposals and ensure faster implementation.

”Our agricultural sector is growing rapidly, driven by growth in related sectors and adoption of modern technologies such as GI marking of quality crops. Investors will find attractive opportunities in the food processing industry, which is also starting to become an important part of industrial development,” Sinha said.

”We are working with the right intentions and have developed the infrastructure the industry needs. This instills new confidence in foreign investors and will lead to economic growth in Jammu and Kashmir, increase employment and create a peaceful environment,” he added.

The Deputy Governor also shared efforts to identify additional land among all investment proposals received. He highlighted J&K’s digital transformation, which will empower and empower the industrial sector.

The Deputy Governor assured investors that the land would be allocated within 15 days of submitting the proposal. “A transparent regulatory framework and incentive structure will enable individual businesses to prosper and create a modern, globally competitive and humane industrial economy. We are partners in Jammu and Kashmir’s journey to rapid industrialization. I invite companies from all over the world to set up shop in Jammu Kashmir. He added that the Union Territories government is also willing to leverage the technical expertise of other states in various projects such as Yatri Niwas who developed the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board.

UIBC-UC Chairman and KEF Holdings Faizal Edavalath Kottikollon said they are actively working with the government of Jammu and Kashmir to invest and will create a world-class climate health resort in the Union Territory.
