Siblings Anna Lee and Willie Fleming join their father Bill Fleming on guitar, bandmates Malcolm Jones on saxophone, Kevin Higuchi on percussion and Oskar Beckmann on bass. The Columbia Theater website states that the group pays homage to Irish music by adding their own modern twist. According to a release filed with the Daily News, the group included Eddie LeVert Sr. and Walter Williams Sr., who grew up singing together in Philadelphia. He also had a song on the Billboard charts seven years in a row. His career began in 1957, when “Diana” sold 20 million records. Other hits include the title track to “Puppy Love”, “Lonely Boy”, “My Way”, “Hometown”, “The Tonight Show With Johnny Carson” and more. Stage Door Concert Series

The Stage Door concert series was an intimate evening at the Columbia Theater Association for the Performing Arts, 1231 Vander Cook Road, Longview. Customers should enter through the backstage door. There’s café-style seating on stage, complimentary hors d’oeuvres at Magpie productions and an open bar at Roland Wines.Each concert is held from 7:30pm to 9:30pm

January 14: Marina Trio. The Columbia Theater website notes that Marina Christopher and her band, Marina and the Dreamboat, “have an addictive blend of jazz, soul, and classic pop.”

February 11: Catherine Ross. A folk singer from Oregon, Rose grew up listening to Irish and Scottish folk music. After her grandmother died, she discovered handwritten Irish folk songs on her grandmother’s piano bench, according to the theater’s website. Rose’s influences include Susan McKeown, Christy Moore, Mairéad Ni Mhaonaigh, Niamh Parsons, Dougie MacLean, Kate Rusby, Kat Eggleston and many more.

March 4: Ken Waldman and the Savages. Waldman will be joined by banjo player Rich Kuras and other guests. Kuras, a former Longview resident, started playing the banjo and square dancing 45 years ago.

April 22: Larhonda Steele celebrates Nina Simone. The legendary Simone, a staunch civil rights activist, sang a medley of jazz, blues and folk. Acclaimed Northwestern bluesman Steele will take the stage alongside Mark Steele, Ward Griffith and Leah Hinchcliffe.
