Location of Abu Dhabi Ramadan cannon revealed

The first day of Ramadan this year is expected to be March 23. According to Ibrahim Al JarwanChairman of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Astronomical Society.

Every year during Ramadan in Dubai, cannons are fired at sunset to announce the start of Maghreb prayers and breaking the fast – IftarOversight responsibility falls to the Ministry of Defense’s Support Forces Command, which confirmed the cannons will be operational again in 2023.

Obviously, this isn’t a real cannon – these giant sky pistols use empty cartridges, so it’s safe to check if you want to go, though you might want to plug your ears. It’s a unique and memorable ceremony, filled with nostalgia and festive enthusiasm – drawing residents and visitors alike to witness the deafening roar of gunfire.

Here are all the confirmed Ramadan cannons in Abu Dhabi this year.

According to published in harrij times Cannons will be placed at “Sheikh Zayed Mosque in Abu Dhabi City, Umm Al-Emarat Park in Qasr Al-Hosn and Mushrif areas, Formula car park in Shahama City and Al-Ain City Al-Jahili Fort, while the city of Al-Dhafra will be in Adnoc Gardens.”
