Could you share a brief overview of your career journey, including key milestones and transitions?
I have been fortunate to work for around two decades in different domains like Fintech, e-Commerce, Proptech, and Gaming. I have worked as CTPO for German and Indian startups and headed technical delivery for the top 5 financial conglomerates in India. Currently, I am working as CTPO for a startup in Saudi Arabia called Mazadak.
How do you tackle challenges in your field amidst changing market dynamics and technological advancements?
Firstly, being Agile and embracing new technologies is the mantra here. New technological advancements open doors to new ways of solving complex business challenges.
Secondly, to tackle changing market dynamics, I have a customer-centric approach while building products and services for the changing market needs and expectations. I always look at customer trends and preferences via constant consumer research to evaluate any shift or change in market dynamics.
How do you ensure your company remains adaptable to emerging trends and technologies?
At Mazadak, we conduct numerous Proof-of-Concepts and experiments, specifically in the field of AI/ML, to rigorously assess the applicability of emerging technological trends in solving our business challenges and delivering substantial value to our customers. Additionally, we prioritize internal initiatives to attract new talent and systematically upskill our workforce, ensuring they are adept at embracing the latest technological advancements.
What are your future plans or goals for your career and company?
At Mazadak, we envision a digitally transformed future, leveraging the power of Social Commerce and AI/ML to digitize the realms of social commerce and auctions. Our unique approach involves seamlessly integrating Social Commerce with AI to deliver unparalleled value to both buyers and sellers on our platform in the near future.
What valuable lessons have you learned throughout your career?
I have been fortunate to adhere to the following guidelines:
a) Stay obsessed with delivering customer value and maintain a customer-centric approach while building products and services.
b) Always question a product or feature in terms of its impact on both business and customers alike (what’s the impact?).
c) Be cost-conscious and critically evaluate the return-on-investment on products, features, or business lines.
d) Failure is a great stepping stone to success. One should take failures in one’s stride, learn from them, and move ahead.
