
Songwriting paul williams will be awarded for the 13th annual Music Supervisors Association The 2023 Icon Awards at the Wilton Theater in Los Angeles on March 5. The ceremony will also posthumously honor former Sony Pictures Entertainment Senior Vice President and Music Director Pilar McCurry.
Williams’ standards were adopted by Ray Charles, David Bowie, Barbra Streisand, Tony Bennett, Diana Ross, Carpenters, Elvis Presley, Frank Sinner Recorded by famous artists such as Qu, Ella Fitzgerald, Luther van der Roth and Willie Nelson. He was previously nominated for six Oscars, nine Grammys, six Golden Globes and two Emmys.

The Music Directors Society honors the Icon Awards to artists and music directors who have made legendary contributions to the music and film industries. Williams joins an acclaimed group of former honorees that includes Diane Warren, Quincy Jones, Burt Bacharach, Kenny Loggins and Mark Schejman.
The Legacy Award honors music executives who have made an impact on the industry during their careers. Pilar McCurry is best known for Love Jones, Stampede’s Yard, Fire Up and Men in Black.
During her 25-year career, McCurry has collaborated with artists such as Will Smith, Beyoncé, Questlove, Aaliyah, Enrique Iglesias, Lauryn Hill, 2Pac and En Vogue. She passed away in March 2018 at the age of 53. Previous recipients include music directors Mitchell Leib, Maureen Crowe, Bob Hunka, Joel Sill, Gary Lemel and Chris Montan.

Both have made tremendous contributions to the entertainment industry through their songs and supervision,” said Madonna Wedrid, vice president of the Music Supervisors Association. “Additionally, this year we focused on curating a showcase duo that included a director and a member from the entertainment industry. It was a great opportunity to highlight and showcase the relationship between music supervision and all components of the storytelling process connections and collaborations.”
Performing at this year’s Music Directors Association Awards were nominees Gaby Moreno and Ruth B.
Moreno. Gaby will perform “A Song In My Heart” from “The Valet,” while Ruth B. will perform “Paper Airplanes” from her song “Jazzman’s Blues.” Celebrity hosts include Sharon Stone, Debbie Allen, Pamela Adlon, Lindsey Blaufarb and Odeya Rush.view more candidates here.
