Nanoleaf’s latest smart lights aim to enhance the entertainment experience

Nanoleaf has launched a new batch of addressable smart lighting and gaming products designed to enhance your home entertainment experience, including integration with Overwolf gaming software, a 4D screen mirror and light strip kit, and an expansion of the Ultra Black range of lighting panels. Nanoleaf Shapes Ultra Black Hexagons were announced during a company conference Annual Nanoleaf Live Book Tuesday from the Nanoleaf online store today.

The nine-piece Smarter Kit is $219.99, and the three-piece Expansion Kit is $69.99.As the name suggests, these are actually all-black versions of the company’s signature interconnected hexagonal LED panels (though if Previous Ultra Black versions what to refer to). They can be chained in a variety of ways to create your own designs and lighting animations, and they are also compatible with Nanoleaf triangles if the hexagons themselves do not meet your creative requirements. Preorders for the Nanoleaf Shapes Ultra Black Hexagons will start shipping at the end of July.

The Nanoleaf 4D system uses a camera to capture what is playing on the TV screen and syncs with a series of RGB light strips to reflect the colors being displayed. The system includes a magnetic privacy cover for the camera, which Nanoleaf claims is for color detection only—nothing it captures is saved, stored, or otherwise recorded. With Nanoleaf’s Sync Plus technology, screen mirroring also extends to any Nanoleaf RGB lights you own, including the new Shapes.

The kit is available in two lengths: $99.99 for the 65-inch version and $119.99 for the 85-inch version. The light strips in the kit can be cut to fit TVs up to 85 inches, and products will begin shipping to customers in mid-July.

The camera needs to be mounted above the TV, which can be distracting for those who prefer a clean setup.

Both the Nanoleaf 4D and Ultra Black Hexagon products are compatible with all major smart home platforms including IFTTT and Razer Chroma, and will receive an over-the-air update later this year to add support for matter.The new Ultra Black Hexagon is also available as Thread Border Router for your smart home, such as Other Shapes products from Nanoleaf.

A new Nanoleaf integration is available for overwolf, a gaming software platform that provides additional features and extensions to supported video games.The new integration allows users to animate lights that will react to gameplay across games such as Apex Legends and Dota 2, such as flashing orange when a player dies in-game. Starting today, users can connect the two systems through the Nanoleaf desktop application.

Finally, we also previewed the upcoming Nano leaf skylight During the presentation at the event, though there was still no information on the product’s price or release date.
