National Ocean Dredging Group signs agreement with Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce

The National Marine Dredging Group (NMDC Group) and the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ADCCI) have signed a joint initiative agreement aimed at maximizing procurement opportunities and acting as a catalyst for the development and growth of currently qualified and willing parties through participation in the NMDC Group Extensive portfolio of domestic and international projects to qualify businesses in Abu Dhabi.

The MoU is in line with the Abu Dhabi Chamber’s strategy launched in February to focus on empowering and enhancing the competitiveness of the emirate’s private sector, making the UAE capital the preferred choice for doing business in the MENA region by 2025.

Through its role as liaison, the Chamber supports the Let’s Grow Together initiative by facilitating connections between businesses, suppliers and other relevant entities, paving the way for strategic partnerships that will help the emirate grow and prosper.

As part of the deal, the parties will exchange information, data and experience related to strategies, policies and programs to ensure clarity in Abu Dhabi’s supply chain requirements, which will increase opportunities and growth for the private sector in Abu Dhabi.

The MoU has the following main common objectives:

• Communicate eligibility requirements for participation in NMDC Group projects

• Identify private sector development and growth opportunities

• Maximize the potential of the entire supply chain

The agreement was signed by NMDC Group CEO Engineer Yasser Zaghloul and Abu Dhabi Chamber Director General Mohamed Helal Al Mheiri.

Commenting on this pivotal initiative, Chairman Abdulla Mohamed Al Mazrui said: “Abu Dhabi Chamber is a major contributor to the emirate’s economic growth and development of a diverse and knowledge-based economy. , which is in line with the vision of its wise leadership.”

As such, the Chamber is committed to fostering strategic networking opportunities for its members, enabling them to explore new avenues for business success and contribute to the nation’s economic growth.

“Our ultimate goal is to make Abu Dhabi a leading global business destination and we will continue to work tirelessly to achieve this goal,” he noted.

Mohammed Thani Murshid Ghannam Al Rumaithi, Chairman of NMDC Group, said: “We are always looking for high-impact initiatives that will benefit the business, the Abu Dhabi economy and, very importantly, our stakeholders. With this MoU, the group will be poised to strengthen its supply chain ecosystem, supporting broader diversification of the private sector in Abu Dhabi and ultimately maximizing shareholder value.”

Zaghloul said the MoU formalizes the shared vision of NMDC Group and ADCCI to ensure the growth and development of the private sector in Abu Dhabi.

“With this initiative, we aim to highlight the growth opportunities that Abu Dhabi’s SMEs can seize as part of our ongoing AED 54 billion project and take advantage of additional incentives expected over the next five years and provide Equipped with a toolkit for SMEs to join the NMDC Group to achieve its ambitious growth journey.
