(Ringos, NJ)— RVCC Foundation Raised over $127,000 at the 18th Annual RVCC Foundation Golf Classic on June 20 at Copper Mountain Country Club in Ringos. The RVCC Foundation is the fundraising arm of Raritan Valley Community College. The resources it provides enable the college to enhance its programs beyond public and tuition sources and maintain its position as a premier academic institution and one of the most important sources of cultural and continuing education in Somerset and Hunter County.
The RVCC Foundation Golf Classic is the nonprofit’s largest in-person fundraiser of the year, and this year’s Classic attracted approximately 55 corporate sponsors, including title sponsors, Structural Concepts, Inc. Net proceeds raised from golf outings and auctions will support student scholarships, RVCC’s educational programs and other institutional priorities.
This year, 126 passionate golfers from a number of local businesses participated in the event, which included a 50/50 draw, wine cork, silent auction and live auction. Highlights of the day included RVCC student and music major Victoria Mango (’23) singing the national anthem, as well as remarks from RVCC ’22 Commencement Speaker Rebecca Purnell and student-athlete Malachi White from the RVCC Men’s Basketball Team, RVCC ’23 member. Both Purnell and White shared their experiences at the Academy and described how the RVCC transformed their journeys and helped them succeed and thrive.
