An LGBTQ+ business and entertainment conference is holding its first live event after a virtual launch during the pandemic. Unleashed LGBTQ+ will be held September 22-24, 2023 in Dallas, Texas.
Launched by founder Wesley Smoot, the event will bring together LGBTQ+ professionals for several days of panels, workshops, performances and keynotes around the LGBTQ+ market, according to a press release.
“This groundbreaking event will bring LGBTQ+ professionals from across the country to network with top talent, brands and industry leaders in business, entertainment, fashion, travel and technology in a fun and interactive environment,” it said .
Dubbed “Gay SXSW” by Pink Media’s Matt Skallerud, Unleashed LGBTQ launched online during the pandemic. Now, it will be held at Gilley’s Dallas, a 92,000-square-foot venue with views of the Dallas skyline and the Cedars Alamo Drafthouse Cinema.
Speakers and entertainers for the September conference will be available in the coming months. Previous speakers have included comedian Matteo Lane, drag queen Carmen Carrera, fledgling gay NFL recruit Michael Sam and activist Celia Sandia Daniels.
Unleashed LGBTQ is currently accepting applications for speakers, panelists and program leaders.
