Omar Abdennebi: Leading Digital Transformation, Innovation, and Global Talent Dynamics

In today’s rapidly evolving digital landscape, companies across the globe face mounting challenges in recruiting top technical talent, executing digital transformation initiatives, and keeping pace with technological disruption. In the GCC, where businesses are scaling faster than ever, the demand for strategic IT leadership and sales excellence has never been higher.

At the forefront of this transformation stands Omar Abdennebi, co-founder of TACQTICS Tech & Talent, a UAE-based firm specialising in Go-To-Market and Tech recruitment, IT strategy consulting, and leadership development. With more than two decades of international IT experience across Europe, Africa, and the Middle East, Omar has led complex digital roll-outs, ERP deployments, and trans-formative IT projects for multinational organisations in industries such as FMCG, healthcare, energy, and retail.

In this exclusive interview with UAE Times, Omar shares his inspiration, insights into the future of IT and recruitment, and his vision for building an ecosystem that bridges strategy and execution.

What inspired you to create TACQTICS Tech & Talent?

2025 is a wake-up call. Globally, 75% of employers are struggling to fill IT and engineering roles, while senior technical leadership positions now take up to 120 days to fill. At the same time, software companies are fiercely competing for sales talent, those gritty, coachable individuals who fit culturally.

Despite skyrocketing demand in digital transformation, AI, and cloud consulting, many organisations lack the strategic capability to execute at pace.

Having worked on the front lines, I understand the responsibilities of a VP of Information Technology or Sales, tasked with delivering results that directly impact a company’s strategic direction. This perspective has reinforced that recruiting talent goes far beyond reviewing CVs and conducting interviews: it requires a deep understanding of leadership, performance, and organisational culture.

Additionally, I recognise the complexities involved in IT digitisation and complex IT implementations where resistance to change, data migration challenges, and budget overruns are common.

That’s why I co-founded TACQTICS Tech & Talent: a partner that bridges strategy with execution, helping businesses build tomorrow with the right people at the helm.

How does TACQTICS stand apart?

  1. IT Strategy & Delivery

We help organisations design and execute IT roadmaps from achieving audit readiness to deploying complex projects, scalable ERP systems and managing IT carve-outs, including Transition Service Agreements and operational handovers.

  1. Talent Acquisition Consulting

With my co-founder, we deliver bespoke in-person and virtual coaching programs for Sales teams, refining their hiring strategies and execution.

  1. Recruitment
We headhunt top-tier Go-to-Market and tech talent from Sales Leaders and Enterprise Account Executives to Business Development Managers and technical leaders such as CIOs, VPs of IT, CTOs, and IT Directors.
  2. We also specialise in sourcing professionals for cutting-edge roles such as Chief AI Officer, AI DevOps Engineer, MLOps Engineer, Platform Engineer, DevSecOps Engineer, and Business Intelligence specialists.
  3. Interim Leadership

Sometimes, companies need capable hands fast. We offer fractional leadership roles like CIO, Head of IT, or IT Director providing part-time, high-impact guidance without long-term commitment.

How is TACQTICS different from traditional consulting firms?

We’re not observers. We’re embedded. We help define the strategy, guide the delivery, and, when needed, step in to oversee and execute. With real-world experience in both leadership and execution, we speak the client’s language and understand the challenges they face.

What trends are shaping IT and recruitment in the GCC?

The region is evolving rapidly:

  • Speed and execution are more essential than ever. Companies adopting low-code tools, scaling regionally, and growing fast need capable talent quickly but also sustainably. TACQTICS bridges that gap by delivering high-quality hires at pace while offering hands-on consulting to ensure plans are not only designed but brought to life.
  • Despite booming digitisation, only about 32% of GCC leaders have fully deployed AI, highlighting a major gap in strategy and execution.
  • Upskilling is overtaking hiring personalised learning paths and internal mobility are becoming essential to retain top talent.
  • Recruitment today isn’t just about technical skills. Soft skills, collaboration, and ESG alignment are increasingly deciding who gets hired.

What’s your vision for TACQTICS?

We’re building more than an agency; we’re crafting an ecosystem. Our aim is to be the region’s trusted partner where founders meet Go-To-Market visionaries, CIOs find execution-focused advisers, and organisations scale with strategic IT and talent support.

Through partnerships in cyber-security, automation, and AI governance, we’re shaping TACQTICS to guide clients from road-map design to leadership placement and sustained transformation.

As the GCC continues its rapid digital and economic growth, leaders like Omar Abdennebi and TACQTICS Tech & Talent are stepping up to ensure that strategy meets execution. By combining IT strategy, leadership, and specialised recruitment under one roof, Omar is not only addressing today’s talent challenges but also shaping the region’s technological future.
