Orchestra Performs “Peter and the Wolf” with Arkansas Public Theater

“Peter and the Wolf”

Northwest Arkansas Symphony Partners with Arkansas Public Theater and City of Rogers to Present Bilingual Performance of Classic Musical Children’s Story “Peter and the Wolf” Presented by Sergei Prokofiev Thursdays at the Victory Theater (116 S. Second St., Rogers), 4:30 and 5:30 pm.

Narration will be in English and Spanish. The performance is part of the orchestra’s “SoNA Beyond Series” in conjunction with the Art on the Bricks July Art Walk in downtown Rogers. John Bell Jr.: The Painted Legacy CanvasHQ recreates 30 paintings by Bell (1937-2013) as canvas prints, and “Passy Lane: Bronze Casting” Bronze sculptures of bears, horses, elk and dogs by the Oklahoma sculptor will be featured at the opening reception Friday at the Fort Smith Regional Museum of Art (1601 Rogers Ave., Fort Smith) from 5 to 7 p.m. display. Both exhibitions end on October 15th.

Bell’s exhibition includes images of his US Marshals series, Old West churches and historically accurate buildings. After the museum closes, it will be on display in museums, libraries and public spaces across the country until 2026.

The museum’s summer hours are 11am-6pm Tuesday-Saturday and 1pm-5pm Sunday. Admission is free.Please call (479) 784-2787 or visit fsram.org.

Delta Voice

Curators and artists will discuss contemporary art in the South Central “Voice of Delta 2023” Thursdays at 6 p.m., Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts, 503 E. Ninth St., Little Rock. Admission is free.access akmfa.org/8801/8926.
