Prince Harry’s memoir, Standby, is about to be published, and it has some startling revelations. Excerpts from the book recently detailed a physical altercation with his younger brother, Prince William.Harry has also spoken at length in the past What goes on behind the scenes at home. Most of the excerpts from the book detail his earliest memories of his now-wife, Meghan Markle. In the new excerpt, according to Page Six, Harry shared that when he first started dating Meghan, he made the “mistake of Googling and watching some of her love scenes online.”
Meghan was playing Rachel Zane on TV’s Suits when the couple started dating. Her character dated Patrick J Adams’ Mike Ross on the show. Harry further shared, “I witnessed her and a peer beat each other up in some kind of office or conference room,” adding, “I don’t need to see something like this live.”
Harry also shared that he was “confused” that his elder Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton were “religious” viewers of the legal drama. He said he told him to ‘fuck off’ when his brother revealed he was dating Meghan. “I was confused until Willie and Kate explained that they were regular — no, devout — viewers of Suits,” he recalls, saying they “mobbed” him with questions.
“I’ve always thought that Willie and Kate might not welcome Meg into the family, but now I have to worry that they’re going after her for an autograph,” he joked.
Meghan was married to her first husband, Trevor Engelson, for most of the show. The couple separated in 2014. Harry and Meghan started dating in 2016 and finally tied the knot in 2018.
In another part of the memoir, Harry writes that he and his brother got into a physical altercation over Meghan. “He put down the water, called me another name, and walked up to me. It all happened so fast. So very fast. He grabbed me by the collar, ripped off my necklace, and knocked me to the ground .I landed on the dog bowl and it split under my back and the shards cut into my body. I lay there for a while, dazed, then got up and told him to get out,” Harry wrote.
