Proceed with caution, study aerial objects: White House | World News

[ad_1]

Washington: The White House said the UFOs that have been shot down in recent days do not indicate extraterrestrial activity or aliens, and that while the first surveillance balloon was deployed by China, the origin, nature, purpose and capabilities of the three objects have since been questioned. Removal is still under study.

At a news conference on Monday, John Kirby, the National Security Council’s strategic communications coordinator, said the recent objects did not pose an “immediate threat” to personnel on the ground, but that the U.S. was acting out of an “extreme degree of caution.” He also said Reiterate that there are no US reconnaissance planes in Chinese airspace.

Explaining why they were shot down, Kirby said: “However, we did assess that they were at a much lower altitude than Chinese high-altitude balloons and did pose a threat to civilian commercial air traffic. surveillance, but we cannot rule out that possibility.”

Kirby said the Joe Biden administration also decided to take four steps — continue to monitor for Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAP), consult with allies and partners, brief Congress, and create an “interagency team to study the broader Reconnaissance policy impacts, analyzes and disposes of unidentified airborne objects that pose a safety or security risk”.

As Kirby focused on the specifics of the U.S. approach, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre opened the briefing with a half-joking, half-serious clarification, given that the spate of deletions has fueled speculation and intrigue in the American public imagination Argument.

Laughing, she said: “I just want to make sure we get this resolved in the White House. I know there are questions and concerns about it, but there’s no — again, no — indication that these recent teardowns are aliens or alien activity.”

Jean-Pierre added that it was important to speak from the White House because they had heard it many times. “Want to make sure the American people know that, all of you know that.”

Kirby claims that Biden held his first UAP-specific intelligence briefing as early as June 2021, and while they have been reported for years without explanation or in-depth scrutiny, the president has changed at this point. His comments came as Republicans criticized the administration for being slow to respond to the threat posed by UFOs.

Asked what he thought China could gain from the balloon beyond what the satellite imagery would provide, especially since the U.S. said surveillance balloons would have limited additional capabilities, Kirby said they were still recovering the debris and studying it.

“When you’re at a lower altitude than space, you might get better image fidelity, for example, of things on the ground. When you’re not moving at satellite speed, you know, for a few seconds Over a spot, when you can go left, go right, slow down, speed up, like this thing, then you can hang out. If you can hang out, you can immerse yourself a little bit more, you can spend more time in a sensitive place.”
