The New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) Department of Engineering invites applications for open tenure/tenure-track faculty positions in the broad field of transportation engineering. We are particularly interested in candidates with a strong research record in travel demand modeling and/or transport economics with applications to emerging transport technologies (e.g., electric vehicles, autonomous driving, modular vehicles, drones). Successful candidates will become members of the NYU Civil and Urban Engineering program and will be able to collaborate with other faculty across the NYU Global Network, the NYU Center for Interaction of Urban Networks (CITIES), and the NYU Center for Urban Science and Progress in transportation and related fields (CUSP) etc.
NYU houses state-of-the-art research facilities on a 15-acre modern campus on Saadiyat Island in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The core research infrastructure is of particular note, with its extensive and excellent range of instruments and capabilities, as well as high-performance computing facilities. In addition, NYU Engineering has close partnerships with faculty and students at the NYU Tandon School of Engineering, as well as New York’s world-class research centers and research infrastructure.

qualifications
Candidates must possess a Ph.D.A degree in civil engineering, operations research, economics or a related field and must have the ability to develop and lead high-quality research and attract competitive external funding.
The successful candidate is also expected to become an NYU Associate Faculty, allowing research privileges and use of NYU Tandon School of Engineering programs and facilities.
