A new entertainment center provides a space for families to make memories that last a lifetime through games, food and music.
The highly anticipated Games N Taps debuted in January and is expected to have its grand opening in March. The space on US 93 just south of downtown features more than 50 arcade games, six pool tables, four dart boards and a restaurant.
Owner Tony Tran hopes that Games N Taps will create opportunities for parents to bond with their children and provide an indoor haven for families looking to escape the cold winter months.
“I want this to be the best place to hang out in town,” Tran said. “We’ve done the heavy lifting and now families can build memories together. This place will help parents understand what’s important and encourage them to make the next generation better.”
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Tran realized that his children were missing out on parts of his childhood, and with three of his own, Games N Taps was a way to make up for lost time.
“Once I had kids, my life was no longer my own. I now had to live my life for my kids so they could have someone to look up to,” he said. “Children are the future.”
The restaurant, which is separate from the arcade, offers food such as homemade pizza, wings and burgers using fresh ingredients. To give back to the community, Games N Taps only serves local beers from breweries like Sacred Waters and Bias Brewing.
“By introducing local beer, we’re bringing money back to every family and community,” Tran said.
With few music venues south of Kalispell, Tran is excited to bring live music to the area and provide opportunities for local musicians to perform. Games N Taps will provide space to watch sporting events and host parties or events. Tran also hopes to partner with other businesses and fundraise in the future.
“Even though there aren’t many places in the valley to do indoors, other people don’t want to do it because it’s expensive, it’s not easy to do, and there’s a lot of responsibility involved. You have to deal with arcade game makers, which can be frustrating Headache,” Tran explained. “But my goal is to help one person’s life at a time, and I want to make sure clients are taken care of.”
The noble commercial endeavor was worthwhile to Tran because it meant creating a space for families to connect and make memories together.
