Sanad, GE Aerospace and Safran Aero Engines Sign Landmark Agreement


PARIS – Sanad, the global aerospace engineering and leasing solutions leader wholly owned by Mubadala Investment Company, today signed a landmark agreement with GE Aerospace, a supplier of aircraft jet engines, components and systems, and Safran Aircraft Engines, a commercial and military aircraft The engine manufacturer, which expanded its MRO (maintenance repair and overhaul) service offering to the LEAP-1A and LEAP-1B engines that power the Airbus A320neo family of aircraft and the Boeing 737 MAX family of aircraft, with exceptional Globally recognized for performance and fuel efficiency.

Signed at the Paris Air Show, the agreement provides for the first time in Sanad’s history a LEAP engine shop visit and unloading service for two next-generation engine models.

With this agreement, Safran Aircraft Engines joins Sanad’s long-standing list of partners, reinforcing the company’s reputation as a trusted and reliable provider of comprehensive engine MRO services. This partnership further strengthens Sanad’s position as an integral player in the global MRO supply chain as the company now has partnerships with all major OEMs.

The three companies have taken a major step forward by expanding Sanad’s MRO services to include the LEAP-1A and LEAP-1B engines. These advanced engines are efficiently designed to increase performance in terms of improved fuel consumption and reduced CO2 emissions, addressing the challenge of decarbonizing air transport.

Through this agreement, Sanad becomes the first certified LEAP MRO service provider in the SAMENA region, supporting the global LEAP MRO supply chain from its state-of-the-art facility in Abu Dhabi.

The popularity of the LEAP engine continues to soar and the majority of A320neo aircraft in the Middle East are now powered by the LEAP-1A engine. Demonstrating exceptional performance, the LEAP engine embodies the cutting edge of next-generation technology and is expected to become one of the best-selling engines in the world. Sanad fully leverages its advanced technological capabilities to support this large market.
