Sheikh Mohammed Extends Condolences for Students’ Tragedy in Oman Flash Floods

Dubai’s esteemed leader, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, extended heartfelt condolences to the Sultan of Oman in the wake of a tragic incident involving flash floods that claimed numerous lives, including students, in the region on Sunday.

Expressing solidarity and empathy, Sheikh Mohammed took to social media to convey his support during this challenging time. In a message addressed to his esteemed brother, His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq, and the people of Oman, Sheikh Mohammed expressed profound sorrow over the loss of young lives in the North Sharqiyah Governorate due to the unprecedented weather conditions gripping the Sultanate. He emphasized that the pain felt by the people of Oman is shared by the UAE, and he extended his heartfelt condolences to the families and loved ones of the students affected by this tragedy.

“Our hearts are with you, and your affliction is our affliction,” Sheikh Mohammed wrote, underscoring the deep bond of solidarity between the two nations. He emphasized that the children lost in the tragedy are not just the children of Oman but are embraced as part of the wider community, echoing a sentiment of shared humanity and collective grief. He prayed for the souls of the departed to find eternal peace in God’s spacious Paradise and urged strength and solace for the bereaved families during this difficult period.

Meanwhile, President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan also reached out to Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said of Oman, extending his condolences and sympathies to the victims of the devastating floods.
