Top UAE concerts to watch out for this January

As a multicultural hub, the UAE has brought in many international performers over the years. Last year, the country saw some talented artists draw crowds and CT believes this year will be no exception.

As 2023 kicks off, here are some upcoming artists performing in the country:

Grammy-winning multi-platinum band Imagine Dragons are heading to Abu Dhabi this month as part of their massive Mercury world tour. The popular band will make a stop at the Etihad Arena on Yas Island on 26 January 2023. The tour is in celebration of the release of Imagine Dragons’ highly anticipated double album Mercury — Acts 1 & 2. It’s a 32-track epic, Rick Rubin-produced executive, including hit singles Enemy, Bones and Sharks, and expanding on 2021’s Mercury — Act 1. Tickets start from AED 250. Doors open at 7pm.

Award-winning artist Sting will present a special My Songs concert at the Etihad Arena on Yas Island, Abu Dhabi on January 27, 2023. Sting’s My Songs Concert is a dynamic and energetic show featuring some of his best-loved songs written over a 17-year period – a Grammy Award-winning police department and illustrious career as a solo artist. Tickets start from AED 395. The concert is scheduled to begin at eight o’clock in the evening.

Popular Korean girl group Blackpink will come to Abu Dhabi for their first show in the UAE. The concert will take place at Etihad Park on Yas Island on 28 January 2023. The global K-pop phenomenon comprising Jisoo, Jennie, Rose and Losa is known for their eclectic mix of pop, hip-hop and trap.This concert will be part of the BLACKPINK WORLD TOUR [BORN PINK] ABU DHABI celebrate their latest album which hit #1 on Billboard Top 200 album sales. Tickets start from AED 350 and are available on livenation.me.

Bollywood singer Arijit Singh, known for hits like Kesariya Tera Ishq Hai Piya, Tum Hi Ho, Channa Mereya and Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, will perform at the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai on Friday, January 20, 2023. Tickets for Arijit Singh’s concert in Dubai – open to all ages – start from AED 95 and are available on the venue’s official website. Doors open at 6.30pm.

Prateek Kuhad, one of India’s leading singer and songwriters, will be in Dubai on January 14 to perform at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Court. Visitors can look forward to fan favorites such as cold/mess and Kho Gaye Hum Kahan, as well as everything from his 2022 album. Tickets start from Dh110 and are available through Platinum List. The show is scheduled to begin at 9.30pm.

British superstar Sir Tom Jones will star in an exclusive concert at the Gala at Burj Al Arab Hotel’s Esplanade Gardens. The Grammy winner will perform at the lavish event on January 6, 2023. The artist, who has sold more than 100 million records, will perform in an open-air show at the Gardens by the Sea venue, which will also include a red carpet reception as well as a four-course dinner served by a Michelin-starred chef. The event is scheduled to start at 7pm, with tickets priced at Dh3,000 to Dh15,000 per person and available through Platinum List.

Internationally renowned ballet dancer Svetlana Zakharova, principal of the Bolshoi Theater and the first and only Russian star of La Scala, will perform with Stars of the Bolshoi at the Dubai Opera on January 27-28. Tickets for performances of Svetlana Zakharova and Stars of the Scala Bolshoi start at Dh349 and are available through dubaiopera.com and platinumlist.net.

Contemporary dance and circus show Cirque du Soleil returns to Dubai on January 11. They will perform at the Coca-Cola Arena for a week until January 18th. Performers are known to captivate audiences with their captivating acrobatic skills and creative costumes. The hypnotic show offers guests a dreamlike journey into the magical world of insects and celebrates the beauty of biodiversity. Tickets start from AED 191.

Iraqi superstar Rahma Riad will perform live on the Global Village Main Stage on Wednesday, January 11th. Visitors can look forward to some of her biggest hits, including Waed Menni, Al Kawkab, Mako Menni and Asaad Lel Goumar. Riad was most recently featured on Light The Sky, the official soundtrack for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. Concerts on the Global Village Main Stage are open to all guests in the park, with designated areas for families and ladies. Global Village tickets can be purchased through the Global Village official website or mobile APP. The concert is scheduled to begin at eight o’clock in the evening.

Hans Zimmer, the multi-Academy Award-winning, acclaimed German composer of some of the most beloved soundtracks in film history, will bring his breathtaking The European tour Hans Zimmer Live takes to Dubai on January 27th. The special one-off concert, to be held at the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai, will feature two and a half hours of new compositions and adaptations of classics from the Academy Award-winning composer, recreated by Zimmer himself on stage. Perform it all, with a large orchestra, complemented by Hans Zimmer’s magnificent live band and dancers. The show is scheduled to start at 9pm and ticket prices start from AED 695.

On January 14th, the powerful duo of Indian singers Rekha Bhardwaj and Harshdeep Kaur will wow the crowds with a show at The Agenda in Dubai Media City. Visitors can look forward to some of their biggest hits including Zaalima, Hamari Atariya and many more hits. Tickets start from AED 69. Doors open at 8pm.
