Trevor Noah partners with Spotify for weekly podcast

Trevor Noah recently partnered with Spotify for a weekly podcast series that will launch later this year.

according to typethe former daily show The host will “combine his signature humor and sharp wit with his global perspective to deliver unique perspectives on the hottest and most fascinating topics of the moment”.

The untitled weekly show will reportedly include in-depth conversations between Noah and “some of the most influential and interesting people in the world,” Spotify told the outlet.

Speaking of the podcast, Noah told Variety, “I’ve always been someone who likes to try new things and explore different ways to express what I do.”

“I think it’s going to be a really exciting opportunity to create more of what I’ve been creating — and more of what I haven’t before,” Noah said.

The former host shared that the podcast “just gave me the opportunity to further expand on some elements that TV doesn’t necessarily allow you to see — it’s the long form”.

“With a podcast, I can make an episode from anywhere in the world,” he said.

Sharing details about the podcast, Noah revealed, “We’re going to be having interesting and meaningful conversations with some of the most fascinating people in the world. We’re also going to solve potentially every problem humanity has ever faced, so you’ll definitely want to join us every episode.”

Meanwhile, Spotify vice president and head of global podcast studios Julie McNamara said, “Trevor fits into every level of our strategy that we’re going to roll out.”

“He’s the perfect creator with a unique point of view. It’s an always-on podcast, talk format,” McNamara added.
