UAE advises citizens in Bangkok after shooting

The UAE Embassy in Bangkok issued an advisory on Tuesday after a shooting incident at a mall in Thailand’s capital.

All Emiratis near the area were reported safe, according to a post on X platform. Local authorities said one person was killed, and six were injured in the incident, which occurred around 4.30pm (0930 GMT) at the upscale Siam Paragon mall.

Witnesses reported a chaotic scene as shots rang out, with hundreds of people fleeing.

Thai police have detained a 14-year-old boy in connection with the shooting. Numerous emergency response vehicles were seen at one of the mall’s entrances.

The UAE Embassy urged its citizens in the city to follow local safety instructions and register for the Tawajodi service. In case of emergencies, they were advised to contact the hotline at 0097180024.
