UAE and UK to provide Dh540m package for emergency services in Senegal

United Arab Emirates AED 540 million package has been joined with the UK to strengthen emergency response services in India Senegal.

The National Emergency Response Plan, called Redco Project Senegal, aims to strengthen emergency services through ambulances, fire Vehicles, rescue boats, water trailers, cranes and cargo trucks and medical equipment.

the project by Standard Chartered Bank Up to AED 540 million, with direct funding from UAE-based Etihad Credit Insurance (ECI) and UK Export Finance (UKEF).

According to state news agency Wam, ECI is financing the total cost of the Redco project with AED 334 million.

“The long-standing bilateral relationship between the UAE and the UK is built on the shared vision of both countries to promote sustainable global development and economic prosperity,” said Dr. Sani Al Zeyoudi, UAE Minister of State for External Trade.

“The UAE has always been keen to participate in extraordinary projects that can transform the lives of hundreds of thousands of people.

“This new agreement between our export credit agencies is part of the UAE’s relentless commitment to advancing key areas such as emergency services, healthcare, the environment and technology.”

ECI chief executive Massimo Falcioni said the agreement will help local entrepreneurs and exporters access overseas markets.

“This partnership presents many opportunities for the UAE, UK and Senegal to explore joint projects that will help domestic entrepreneurs and exporters secure access to international markets while safely protecting their receivables,” said Mr Falcioni.

“It will further strengthen the presence of Emirati companies on the global stage and strengthen their position as one of the most beneficial global trade and business centres.”

UAE recently Send emergency supplies to Senegal Eleven newborns died after a fire broke out in the neonatology unit of Mame Abdou Aziz Sy Dabakh hospital in Tifwani city.

The relationship between the UAE and Senegal dates back to the seventies.

“The UK can play a leading role in exporting fire safety equipment,” said UK export minister Mike Freer.

“This deal demonstrates how British ingenuity combined with UAE initiative can better protect overseas communities, and how a joint government initiative can help businesses export their best-in-class equipment and services.”
