Investors from around the world have been urged to apply for a visitor visa to explore opportunities to do business in the UAE, as such visas do not require a sponsor or host.
In a statement posted on its website, the UAE Digital Government called on investors from around the world to take advantage of the digital services provided by Federal Identity and Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP), and the General Department of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai.
“The visit visa to explore investment opportunities allows foreigners to enter easily without the need for a sponsor or host. It is designed to encourage investors and entrepreneurs to explore business and investment opportunities in the UAE,” said the UAE Digital Government.
Visitor visas are issued for a single trip with a duration of up to 4 months, including 60, 90 or 120 days.
According to the authorities, there are three conditions for obtaining a visitor visa for visiting investment opportunities. These include that the foreigner or investor must be financially solvent, talented, or highly educated professional in their future business in their home country, and fulfill the required financial guarantees.
Authorities also said three documents are required to apply for a visitor visa. This includes a color personal photo, a copy of your passport and proof of eligibility for permanent residence.
Foreign investors can directly apply for a visa through the ICP smart channel. This is done in five steps, including filling in the required data, attaching attachments, paying the prescribed fee, evaluating the service and finally receiving the transaction by email.
Applications that are returned due to missing certain information or failure to attach required documentation will be rejected electronically after 30 days.
If the visa holder is unable to enter the country within the specified time limit from the date of issuance, the validity period of the visa can be extended once, and the validity period is 60 days. In such cases, only the issue fee and financial security (if any) will be refunded within six months from the date of application by credit card or by check or bank transfer only at banks within the UAE for a period not exceeding five Year.
