Abu Dhabi [UAE]3 May (/WAM): The UAE Cyber ​​Security Council works with its partners to prevent more than 50,000 cyber-attacks on the country’s strategic sectors every day, said Mohammed Hamad Al Kuwaiti, head of cybersecurity for the UAE government.

Al Kuwaiti said in a statement to the Emirates News Agency (WAM) during the Oracle Cloud World 2023 tour Abu Dhabi that kicked off in the capital today that the banking, finance, health, oil and gas sectors are the most targeted, And pointed out that all attacks are actively and effectively countered to protect the country’s digital domain.

He added that the committee combats cyberattacks in accordance with the country’s information security standards and policies, and affirmed that the UAE’s advanced digital infrastructure and capabilities are effective in combating malicious cyberattacks against government authorities.

The UAE ranks fifth globally in the United Nations International Telecommunication Union’s Global Cyber ​​Security Index, which measures awareness among 193 countries of the importance of cyber security. (/WAM)
