The UAE Gender Balance Council has achieved remarkable success since its establishment in 2015. She added that legislation and policies established the principles of equal opportunity, equal rights and obligations, and equal access to work.
Corporate Culture and Global Achievements
Sheikha Manal confirmed that these efforts have transformed the work culture in the UAE and have enabled the country to successfully climb the rankings of several international reports measuring gender equality, from 49th in 2015 and 49th in 2015 to Global 2020 18th and first in the Arab world on the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Gender Inequality Index (GII).

The UAE Private Sector Sustainable Development Goals Advisory Council has announced the development of a voluntary commitment to increase the proportion of women in leadership roles in the private sector to 30% by 2025, implemented in partnership with the UAE Gender Balance Council.
