Although the region has been battered by heavy rain and flooding for several days, flydubai flights to and from several northern Indian states have not been affected.

“Our flights are operating as planned,” a spokesman for the Dubai-based airline told the Khalij Times on Tuesday evening.

According to reports, many places in northern India continued to be hit by heavy rain, and many roads and buildings were still submerged in knee-deep water. Many people have died in the past three days.

Authorities in Himachal Pradesh state assessed the devastation caused by recent rains on Tuesday, saying landslides and flooding had killed 31 people, blocked nearly 1,300 roads and damaged 40 major bridges in three days.

As many as 1,299 roads were blocked and 3,737 water systems were affected, according to the Response Center.

A total of 80 people have died so far, 24 of them in traffic accidents, 21 in landslides, followed by falls from heights (12), accidental drowning (7), flash floods (5), electrocution ( 4 people), snakebites (2) and others (5), according to the data.

The Ambala district of Haryana state and the neighboring Patiala district of Punjab state have seen the heaviest rainfall for three consecutive days. The heavy rainfall caused river levels to rise and major canals to burst, flooding roads, residential areas and large tracts of farmland. As water flooded homes in parts of the two states, authorities raced to move affected people to safety.

The India Meteorological Department expects more rain in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan, Delhi and its adjoining areas in the coming days.
