UAE President and Pakistan PM Discuss Bilateral Relations

UAE President In a significant diplomatic encounter, UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan hosted Pakistan Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar during the latter’s official visit to the UAE. The meeting, held at Qasr Al Bahr in Abu Dhabi, focused on advancing bilateral cooperation with a strategic emphasis on economic, investment, and developmental collaborations. The leaders delved into various sectors, including agriculture, food security, and energy, aligning their efforts towards mutual sustainable development.

Deepening Ties and Regional Concerns

The discussions also underlined the enduring historical ties and strong friendship between the UAE and Pakistan. Addressing regional and international concerns, the leaders engaged in talks about the evolving situation in the Middle East and the ongoing crisis in the Gaza Strip. The urgency of establishing sustainable channels for humanitarian aid to Gaza and the imperative for a lasting ceasefire were key points of emphasis.

Global Action on Climate and Gratitude for Support: UAE President

The leaders explored the significance of the upcoming UN Climate Change Conference (COP28) hosted by the UAE, highlighting its pivotal role in devising sustainable solutions and expediting climate action. Prime Minister Kakar expressed gratitude for the UAE’s longstanding friendship and developmental support, particularly in critical sectors such as health, education, and overall national development.

Exchange of Memoranda and Multisectoral Collaboration

The meeting witnessed a symbolic exchange of memoranda of understanding, covering diverse sectors such as banking and financial services, energy, food and agriculture, logistics, mining, port operations, and water treatment. This exchange ceremony involved UAE Minister of Investment Mohamed Hassan Alsuwaidi and Pakistani Minister for Finance, Revenue, and Economic Affairs, Dr. Shamshad Akhtar.

Attended by high-profile officials, including Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, among others, the meeting reinforced the commitment to strengthening diplomatic ties and fostering collaboration between the UAE and Pakistan.
