UAE President Approves Law for Abu Dhabi’s Correctional Facilities

As the Abu Dhabi Ruler, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE President, has decreed a law about punitive and correctional facilities.

This law shifts the oversight of these facilities, including those for juveniles, from Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters to Abu Dhabi Judicial Department.

Starting January 1, 2024, this law aims to enhance rehabilitation and correctional efforts in Abu Dhabi.
