UAE President invites Colombian counterpart to COP28 via letter

In gracious gesture of international cooperation and environmental concern, the esteemed UAE President, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, personally composed and dispatched a letter to the distinguished President of Colombia, Gustavo Petro. This letter served as an official invitation extended to President Petro to participate in the eminent Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28). The prestigious event is scheduled to take place at Expo City Dubai this November, and the UAE President is keen to have President Petro’s valued presence and contribution.

With global climate challenges looming large and demanding immediate collective action, the UAE President recognized the importance of fostering international collaboration and partnership to tackle the pressing issues at hand. The invitation to COP28 serves as an acknowledgment of the shared responsibility that nations bear in addressing climate change and working together towards a sustainable future for generations to come.

As COP28 draws near, the UAE is steadfast in its commitment to hosting a fruitful and substantive conference that fosters constructive dialogue and tangible action to combat the challenges posed by climate change. By inviting leaders from across the globe, including President Petro, the UAE aims to provide a platform where nations can unite, share knowledge, propose solutions, and collectively pave the way for a greener, more sustainable future.

With the receipt of this written invitation, President Petro is now faced with the honor and responsibility of deciding on his attendance at COP28. Should he accept the UAE’s generous invitation, the event will undoubtedly benefit from the Colombian President’s insights, ideas, and commitment to advancing climate action on a global scale. The convergence of leaders like President Petro and the UAE President, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, during COP28 could set a powerful example of international cooperation and leadership in combating climate change, forging a path towards a more sustainable and resilient future for the entire world.
