Leaders review successful diplomatic, defense and trade partnership between the two countries
On Monday, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, received a call from the new British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.
A Downing Street spokesman said: “This afternoon, Prime Minister Rishi Sunak spoke with His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The leaders reviewed the UK-UAE relationship. successful diplomatic, defense and trade partnerships built on deep historical ties.
“The Prime Minister welcomed the progress made in the UAE-UK Sovereign Investment Partnership, with leaders discussing opportunities to further strengthen our economic relationship, particularly in energy and clean technology.
“They also discussed the ongoing global consequences of Russia’s attack on Ukraine and continued aggression. On regional security, the two leaders expressed their concerns about the situation in Iran and agreed to continue working together to find a lasting solution to the long-running conflict in Yemen.
“The Prime Minister and Sheikh Mohammed look forward to working together in the coming months to achieve our shared priorities.”
