A fire in a residential building in Abu Dhabi has been contained by authorities in the capital. Residents were evacuated from the building by Abu Dhabi Police and Civil Defense teams for safety reasons.

Abu Dhabi Police said in a statement on their social media that emergency teams rushed to the scene and successfully contained the fire that broke out in an apartment building in a residential building on Abu Dhabi’s Corniche on Wednesday night (July 5).

Due to the rapid action of the authorities, no casualties were caused by the fire, and the cooling work on the scene is in progress. Abu Dhabi Police and Abu Dhabi Civil Defense urged the public to obtain information only from official sources.

Earlier, Abu Dhabi police warned against “siege” at the accident site and warned residents of fines to ensure the smooth passage of emergency vehicles. Those gathered around the accident site blocked traffic. They also impede the arrival of emergency vehicles, which is critical to saving lives.

The police emphasized that in this case, the road needs to be cleared for ambulances and civil protection vehicles so that they can quickly reach the scene of the accident and rescue the injured. This often leads to further accidents as some drivers stop at the scene of the accident, causing traffic to be interrupted.
