President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan paid a working visit to Serbia on Thursday, where he met with President Aleksandar Vučić to review relations between the two countries and discuss regional and international development.
Sheikh Mohamed and Vučić discussed existing areas of cooperation between the UAE and Serbia and explored opportunities for further cooperation, especially in areas such as renewable energy, agriculture, food security, technology, artificial intelligence, and trade.
Bilateral relations between the UAE and Serbia have grown significantly in recent years and will receive a further boost with the signing of a comprehensive strategic partnership agreement between the two countries in September 2022.
During Thursday’s meeting in Belgrade, the two leaders also discussed various regional and international developments, and the importance of supporting peace and stability and resolving disputes peacefully for the benefit of all countries.
The two leaders also emphasized the importance of dialogue and communication to achieve de-escalation in the Western Balkans and promote stability and security in the region.
Sheikh Mohammed arrived in Serbia earlier in the day and was received by President Aleksandar Vucic.
The delegation accompanying the UAE President included Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan; Mohammed Bin Hamad Bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Adviser on Special Matters to the Presidential Court; Ali bin Hamad Al Shamsi, Secretary-General of the Supreme National Security Council; industry and Dr. Sultan Bin Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Advanced Technologies; and Mubarak Saeed Al Dhaheri, UAE Ambassador to Serbia.
