Police say the video posted online promotes “indecent behaviour”

Sharjah police have arrested a group of suspects who promoted “immoral behavior” through a video that went viral on social media. Police said the suspect was Asian.

A senior Sharjah police official said authorities would not tolerate those who do not respect social customs. They added that they are ready to face any situation where negative or unethical behavior affects public discipline.

Police have received information about a viral video of a Sharjah resident demonstrating immoral behaviour. The authorities took immediate action and successfully locked down the suspect within a short period of time. The person who appeared in the video has now been arrested and handed over to the public prosecution.

The official added that Sharjah Police worked hard to ensure a decent and safe environment for residents. He also commended community members for cooperating with authorities and taking an active role.

He urged the public to immediately report any such behavior that may be spotted on social media through the ‘Haris’ service on the Sharjah Police website.
