UAE’s Cafu launches EV charging solution in Canada

Cafu, the Mena region’s first on-demand car service company, announced its Canadian entry on the eve of the release of its second Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) report.

Cafu’s EV charging solution expands into Canada and plans to continue growing into other markets, aimed at supporting users who do not have access to home charging. Cafu’s new innovative service will allow Quebec car owners to charge their cars at the touch of a button, thereby promoting the proliferation of charging infrastructure.

This cutting-edge mobile EV charging solution technology not only expands charging options for EV drivers, but also facilitates easy future adoption. Cafu trucks can drive on demand to recharge the vehicle – providing customers with a seamless travel journey.

Cafu is committed to having a positive environmental, social and economic impact. In parallel with the expansion, Cafu also released its second ESG report. The report highlights the progress the company has made over the past year on carbon emissions, promoting diversity and inclusion, supporting local communities, and outlines the company’s goals for the future.

As part of its commitment to become a carbon-neutral company, Cafu began reporting its greenhouse gas emissions in 2021. Highlights from Cafu’s 2022 Sustainability Report:

• Throughout 2022, the company includes data from Cafu Petroleum and Cafu Tech (including their BOLT on-demand car service) in its GHG emissions report.

• From 20 trucks in 2018 to becoming the go-to technology platform for all vehicle services, Cafu’s fleet size has increased approximately 41% over the past year.

• Cafu grew its customer base by 19% over last year and added 70 trucks to its fleet, resulting in a slight 10% increase in emissions compared to 2021.

• Advances its commitment to a more sustainable future on the path to carbon neutrality – Cafu has entered into the second phase of its Ghaf tree project in partnership with UAE universities, aiming to plant 1 million Ghaf seeds. Centered around its aeronautical technology, Cafu will introduce new patented technologies that expand the program to help combat climate change in such a harsh and arid climate.

• Implementing emissions reduction programs such as the Route80 project, Cafu has increased the efficiency of its trucks, reducing emissions by 10% per order.
