The earthquake occurred at 12:24 noon UAE time
The UAE’s National Center of Meteorology (NCM) detected a slight earthquake in Musandam. The NCM’s National Seismic Network recorded an earthquake measuring 2.1 on the Richter scale at 12:24 noon (UAE time).
The NCM said the quake had no impact on the UAE and the quake was not felt by residents.
An official earlier told the Khaleej Times that the UAE periodically experiences shaking from small earthquakes or earthquakes in neighboring countries, but “they have no impact on the country and there is nothing to worry about”.
The official advised people not to panic if they felt the tremors and to stay at home or in a safe place outside.
