UFC returns to Abu Dhabi on October 21 with UFC 294

[ad_1]

UFC announced its return to the Middle East, which has become a regular Mid-Autumn Festival stop.

It was announced earlier on Thursday that UFC 294 will take place on October 21 at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi. The fight for this card has yet to be announced, but historically the UFC has had plenty of fighters from that side of the world hoping for a spot on the show in the United Arab Emirates.

UFC 294 will be the UFC’s 18th fight in Abu Dhabi, although a dozen of those fights will be part of pandemic-era programming from July 2020 to January 2021, with the company closed due to COVID-19. Bubble volume set up on “Battle Island”.

In January 2021, UFC performed three shows in front of a limited number of fans over eight days at the Etihad Arena. Then in October 2021, UFC 267 hits the field with a light heavyweight title fight and a belt-winning Jan Blachowicz submission from Glover Teixeira.

Also on that card are Islam Makhachev and Khamzat Chimaev. Makhachev returned to UFC 280 last October and won the lightweight title with a Charles Oliveira submission.

Below, check out UFC’s event history in Abu Dhabi.
