World-renowned pianist, recording artist and one of Helena’s favorite soloists, Claire Huang Ci returns to perform Rachmaninoff’s breathtaking Second Piano Concerto. Rachmaninoff’s 150th birthday celebrations opened with his thoughtful Vocalise, and the concert also featured the playfulness of Poulenc’s Gloria.

“Rachmaninoff’s Second and Third Piano Concertos have been played all the time, which is very difficult for the pianist,” explained Maestro Scott. “There are few things that are more difficult than that, where the pianist has to consume every part of the piano and use it to develop incredible power. It’s very intimate and rich, the orchestra singing with the pianist.”

Concert tickets can be purchased online ($15-$55 plus a $5 transaction fee) at www.helenasymphony.orgcall the Symphony Box Office at 406-442-1860, or visit the Symphony Box Office at the Downtown Walk Mall in the Placer Building (21 N. Last Chance Gulch, Suite 100) between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
