After three consecutive days of heavy rain, temperatures in the UAE dropped to their lowest point this winter. The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) said Jebel Jess, the highest mountain in the UAE, recorded a near-freezing low of 1.9°C on Sunday morning. The frigid temperature was recorded at 4.15am.
It was very cold on the mountain, and the water on the top of the mountain was frozen. A video posted by the center of the storm shows a man breaking ice and placing it on top of an Arabic coffee pot:

The desert in Abu Dhabi was blanketed in white last week as freezing rain hit the UAE.
The country suffered heavy rainfall for three consecutive days. Finally, Al Faqa’a station recorded 118mm of precipitation. This is significant considering the UAE receives an average annual rainfall of 100mm.
The center of the storm released a stunning video showing the valleys blooming green after the rain. This video was filmed in Galira:
The weather turned fine this morning. The NCM did not forecast rain for the next five days, but said it would be partly cloudy. Temperatures are likely to rise on Tuesday, January 31.
