[ad_1]

WASHINGTON, Oct. 22 (AP) Authorities arrested two of three suspects they were looking for after two were found dead and a police officer was shot dead on a tribal reservation in northeastern Washington.

The Colville Tribal Police Department said it responded to a report of a shooting Thursday in Keller, west of Spokane. Police found two dead, one shot in the arm when they encountered a vehicle described as having left the scene. He was doing well after being taken to a medical facility, the department said in a news release.

Police identified two of the suspects as Curry Pinkham and Zachary Holt. A third suspect, another man, has not been identified. It is unclear which of the three suspects has been arrested.

Tribal police, with the help of 10 other agencies including the FBI, Border Patrol, Washington State Patrol and representatives of police and sheriffs, searched them overnight. Two suspects have been arrested, the department said on Facebook on Friday.

Authorities urged residents to stay indoors during the search.

Cody Desautel, executive director of the Coalville Reservation Alliance Tribe, wrote that schools in Nespelham and Keller will be closed Friday “due to the conditions affecting both areas tonight” .

The gym at the nearby Coulee Dam welcomes any displaced families, Desautel said.

Schools in another nearby school district were also canceled on Friday, covering the small towns of Wilbur and Creston. The district wrote in a message on its Instagram page that there was “a tragedy in the Keller community” involving the loss of life.

“Right now, our hearts are heavy and we support the entire Keller community,” the message said.

Colville’s Confederate tribes consist of approximately 9,400 descendants of a dozen Native American tribes. The reserve covers nearly 5,700 square kilometers west of Roosevelt Lake, a reservoir on the Columbia River behind the Grand Coulee Dam. (Associated Press)
