canberra [Australia]March 20 (ANI): Victoria Police, Australia, on Monday released photos of Khalistani supporters who indulged in violence on January 29.

In a statement, Victoria Police called for the identification of six men following a brawl in Melbourne.

“The Melbourne East Neighborhood Policing Team is appealing for the public’s assistance following an incident in Federation Square in late January,” the statement read.

The targeted attack took place during the voting for the “Khalistan Independence” referendum organized by the “Sikh for Justice (SFJ)” on January 29 this year.

Men from pro-Khalistani groups attacked Indians holding flags in their hands.

The group of Indians was seen fleeing the scene while the Khalistani group continued to attack them.

Police attended the Khalistan referendum campaign at Federation Square on January 29 when two fights broke out, one at around 12.45pm and the other at around 4.30pm.

During the fight, the flagpole was used as a weapon by several men, causing multiple victims to be physically injured. The two victims, one with a laceration to the head and the other with a hand injury, were treated by paramedics at the scene. Several other victims were injured and required medical treatment.

“Two men were arrested that day and police have been conducting multiple inquiries to determine the identities of the remainder. Investigators have released photographs of six men they believe may be able to assist their investigation,” the statement read.

In both incidents, police quickly responded to separate incidents and dispersed crowds. OC spray was used in the second incident to separate the combatants.

Police in Victoria, Australia, finally woke up and took action, two months after sword welder Khalistanis attacked the Indian community in Melbourne’s Federation Square.

During a visit to New Delhi earlier this month, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said his country would not tolerate any extremist actions and attacks in religious buildings and that there was no place for such actions against Hindu temples land.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Anthony Albanese discussed the unrest caused by pro-Khalistan groups in Australia, with the Australian prime minister assuring that his government will take all necessary steps to ensure peace and harmony.

Beginning in 2023, Khalistani elements vandalized walls with anti-India slogans and graffiti in a devastating attack on Hindu temples in Australia.

Attacks abroad by these Khalistani elements have recently increased. It was previously reported that the Pakistani spy agency ISI had been urging and financing such attacks by the elements in an effort to spark a Khalistan movement in Punjab.

Indian intelligence agencies have been warning of increased activity by ISI-backed Khalistan elements. (Arnie)
