WORLD NEWS | Best handicrafts, handlooms on display at 41st India International Trade Fair in New Delhi

New Delhi [India]November 28 (ANI): The best handicrafts and handlooms were on display at the 41st India International Trade Fair Saras Aajeevika Mela 2022 which concluded in New Delhi on Sunday.

Turnover over Rs 60 crore for last 14 days. SARAS Aajeevika Mela 2022 is organized by the Ministry of Rural Development and National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj (NIRDPR) at the 41st India International Trade Fair (IITF) at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, according to an official statement from Ministry of Rural Development of India.

More than 300 artisans participated and displayed their products in about 150 booths. Some 300 women from self-help groups in 26 states showcased handicrafts, handlooms and natural foods from different rural areas of the country at the booths.

A large number of people visit Saras Aajeevika Mela during the trade fair in Pragati Maidan. The Ministry of Rural Development said in a statement that Salas remained a favorite choice for tourists due to the beautifully decorated stalls, spectacular themed pavilions and cultural programs in the evening.

The famous SARAS Aajeevika Mela with the theme of “Tradition, Art, Craft and Culture” is one of the most prestigious government initiatives that not only offers the best cultural heritage but also tells the story of rural women wearing hats National level entrepreneurship platform.

Various products from more than 26 states are exhibited and sold at SARAS Aajeevika Mela 2022. SARAS Aajeevika Mela presents the best collection of handloomed sarees, clothing materials, accessories and organic handicrafts from different states of India. Every stall, every product and every participating rural SHG woman has a story to share. SARAS provided listed products at the exhibition.

SARAS Mela is an initiative of Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana-National Rural Livelihoods Mission [DAY-NRLM], Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD), Government. The Government of India has brought rural women SHG members formed under DAY NRLM under one platform to showcase their skills, sell and network with potential market players at a fair price, reads the press release.
