SINGAPORE, 21 April (PTI) Nearly 100 local artists showcased various art forms including Carnatic and Hindustani music, Bharatana, Kathak , Kuchipudi and Odisi.

“The Festival 2023 showcases how artists can experiment, push boundaries and broaden horizons, while being entertaining, pure and soulful,” said Puneet Pushkarna, Chair of Performance and External Relations, SIFAS.

“Despite being steeped in traditional art forms, SIFAS aims to be relevant to younger generations by finding ways to combine different ideas to enhance and elevate their work,” said Pushkarna.

Independent artists, SIFAS faculty, alumni and students from Singapore, present a multi-genre and multi-ethnic concert in a 20-piece unified instrument ensemble called ‘Kathambam’.

Themed “Kalpana – Exploring the Past, Imagining the Future”, the festival celebrates its illustrious legacy as a pioneer of classical Indian art in Singapore and its mission to nurture young talent by striving to create works that bring new life to the stage. The past 73 years.

On Sunday (23 April), the artists will perform at Esplanade Concert Hall, Singapore’s top performing arts arena.
